How to play

Press Space or ↑, or tap the game, to jump. Hold it down to leap higher.
Jump again in mid-air for a double jump. Birds, bats and insects can flutter a third time.
Leap over logs, rocks, cacti and ice. You have three hearts, and every new realm gives one back.
Grab the glowing seeds, and catch the bubbles to meet the creatures who live in each realm.
Catch Thea in her pink bubble for Thea’s Seed Shower: seeds rain from the sky and every one counts double!
Look out for Ava in her cream hoodie, floating in a golden bubble. Jump into her for Ava’s Zoom: super speed, and nothing can hurt you for a few seconds!
At the end of every second realm, Giant Jake is waiting, wearing a Gloom Crown! Jump his shockwaves, and when he belly-slides at you, land on his back. Three bonks knock the crown off. Stu runs in to help, with a Shield Heart that blocks one hit. Free Jake twice and he joins your team: from then on, he and Stu fight the Gloom Swarm with you! When it gets too much, Thea runs in, they all hug and join forces for a Friendship Blast.
From the third realm, Gloom Wisps float in at jumping height. Stay low and let them pass, or land right on top of them.
Listen for a cackle: it’s Kelly on her broom! Jump the books she throws (stay low when she throws them high!), and don’t touch her purple Power-Down spell, or you can’t jump for two seconds. She even books Jake and Stu!
Watch out for Gloomlings, mischievous little shadows that walk towards you. Jump over them, or land right on top to turn them back into starlight!
Every realm has its own tune. 🎵 turns the music off or on, 🔊 the sound effects.
Reach Frostpeak Heights to earn the Realm Runner badge. P pauses.
Spot creatures in the Codex to unlock them as runners. Creatures you invent can run too!
